This October we’re asking everyone to get involved with RNIB Read by wearing dots and raising lots.
By wearing dots you will be celebrating braille and helping Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) support people with sight loss. We want to be there for everyone who needs us and with your help we can get everyone on the same page.
How do I get involved?
It’s as simple as it sounds – wear dots and raise lots! Your first step is to register so we can send you a free fundraising pack full of ideas and materials to get you started.
Raid your wardrobe and dig out any dotty items or pop down to your local shop and see what you can pick up – dots are very on trend! Don’t feel you have to spend a lot of money of your outfit though – why not create your own and design our own t-shirt or knit a dot inspired woolly hat. The choice is yours!
You can help us change the story
We need your help to get a real buzz going and get everyone not just talking about reading, but understanding why it is so important that everyone is on the same page, whether sighted, partially sighted or blind.
Every 15 minutes someone in the UK begins to lose their sight and with that the ability to read the written word. It is devastating and can leave you feeling alone and isolated.
At present RNIB can only reach one in three of the people who need us most but you can help us change the story. RNIB believes that blind and partially sighted children and adults should have the same access to books and information as sighted people. Let’s get everyone on the same page.
By taking part in RNIB Read you are helping to open up a world of reading for blind and partially sighted people.
