Read for RNIB Day is now in its third year and we need your support to make it bigger and better than ever. By taking part you will be raising much needed funds for Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and helping to change the story for blind and partially sighted people all over the UK.
When is it?
Read for RNIB Day is our annual fundraising event and we encourage supporters to hold literary-themed events throughout the year. We are currently planning the date for 2014 – watch this space!
How do I get involved?
Whether you are a bookworm or just looking for a way to make a difference there are plenty of possibilities for you to get involved by holding a reading themed event.
We need your help to get a real buzz going and get everyone not just talking about reading, but understanding why it is so important that everyone can enjoy it, whether sighted, partially sighted or blind.
You can help us change the story
Every 15 minutes someone in the UK begins to lose their sight and with that the ability to read the written word. It is devastating and can leave you feeling alone and isolated.
At present RNIB can only reach one in three of the people who need us most but you can help us change the story. RNIB believes that blind and partially sighted children and adults should have the same access to books and information as sighted people.
By taking part in Read for RNIB Day you are helping to open up a world of reading for blind and partially sighted people.
