This October we’re asking everyone to get involved with RNIB Read by wearing dots and raising lots.
By wearing dots you will be celebrating braille and helping us support people with sight loss – ensuring we can be there for everyone who needs us. With your help we hope to increase the awareness around the accessibility of reading.
How do I get involved?
Raid your wardrobe or that of your friends, go down to your local charity shop or even create your own dotty clothing!
If books are more of your thing, why not take part in our Reading Group Challenge or hold a book sale?
There are plenty of possibilities for you to make a difference, why not take a look at our A to Z of fundraising ideas for more inspiration?
You can help us change the story
Help us get a real buzz going and get everyone not just talking about reading, but understanding why it’s so important that everyone has access to reading material, whether blind or partially sighted.
Every 15 minutes someone in the UK begins to lose their sight and often their ability to read text. It’s a devastating experience, one that can often lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. We believe that blind and partially sighted children and adults alike should have the same access to books and information as sighted people.
By taking part in RNIB Read you are helping to open up a world of reading for blind and partially sighted people.
